The power up went fine with my tablet being able to connect to the DRO app. On the other hand my scales do not connect. The jumpers are set to 3.3 and pull down. I connected micro USB connectors in order to connect the scales which I assume are digimags. One question is the micro USB connectors have holes for 5 pins instead of 4 and the last pin not filled is for ground. Is this a wiring issue between data and clock wires or something entirely different? Here is the 24" scale I have http://www.shars.com/24-digital-machine-aluminum-scale These do work correct?MASTERSONhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17174006482074032958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429789698339059066.post-3656328010563413602017-04-19T19:42:03.966-07:002017-04-19T19:42:03.966-07:00The device works with rulers from the company Newa...The device works with rulers from the company Newall http://newall.com/technology/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429789698339059066.post-76196234055919197802016-12-30T19:56:04.423-08:002016-12-30T19:56:04.423-08:00Sorry about that. Then tried the typical two password to make the pairing happen. Worked with 1234. Suggest adding some guidance for pairing the BT with an android tablet. However, the BT LED is red and flashing rapidly, not slowly. At least much faster than the heartbeat LED. Also, what channel is the BT on? Tried to read it via a wifi analyzer app on my phone and don't see any signal. Will need to know that to get a android tablet to pair with it. If I have it correct now I just need to buy the quadrature board and that will work directly with a tablet. ???? Some how I gained the impression that the quadrature sensors needed an adapter and the kit and that the quadrature board wasn't stand alone.

Best
John
-Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11820244037971378365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429789698339059066.post-22664709398253385982016-08-24T11:32:36.621-07:002016-08-24T11:32:36.621-07:00John,

The kits is basically this http://www.yuriystoys.com/2013/10/build-instructions-for-voltage-shifter.html in a nicer package
Unless you are on a draconian budget, I would just get the quadrature board. The kit is meant to be a cheap compromise for Chinese scales.
Quadrature board has proper high impedance input circuitry that can handle reasonably high frequencies; noise characteristics are much better, etc.

Regards
YuriyYuriyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11394499166280606198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429789698339059066.post-82773522806516953532016-08-24T08:55:39.017-07:002016-08-24T08:55:39.017-07:00Thanks for all of this work Yurly. I can manage a soldering iron as I had a job that I suspect is much like yours but maybe you have more technicians.

I want to use pure quadrature sensors that just output the usual 2 square waves in antiphase, via an RS422 driver with A+ A- etc but not sure if this is differential.
