I love the updates and I don't even own one yet.

I was wondering, for the Super models with the BLDC, could you tap two of the motor's hall effect sensors and use those for the tach speed and direction inputs to your board? I'm guessing that it'd probably be advisable to use an optoisolator to keep any noise from reaching your board. What do you think?
I'm also guessing that you probably don't want most people poking around inside the motor controller but for those of us that are capable.
Looking at your G0720 repair post, it looks like the hall sensor wires attach via a Phoenix connector. You could make an intercept harness for easy installation. Just a thought.
Thanks,
BenBPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12169170715286137834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429789698339059066.post-75749408084166396302019-12-08T13:43:09.540-08:002019-12-08T13:43:09.540-08:00Most motor nameplate speed ratings are +- dependin...Most motor nameplate speed ratings are +- depending on "slippage".marinusdeeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14192981563508691396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429789698339059066.post-58754582809790395672019-10-21T10:35:39.283-07:002019-10-21T10:35:39.283-07:00Briney,

Is there a firmware update available for these boards? I know that a few years back someone got it to run on Raspberry Pi running Android.
I'm not using anything hardware-specific or low level (besides USB, which I would love to get rid of), so I don't see why not. If you already have the laptop, you can try installing the app from the Play Store and see if anything looks fishy. You can even use a second "device", paid them and use terminal to push some fake stings to the app (the board uses ASCII protocol to send the data. There is a blog post from few years back that details the protocol).Yuriyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11394499166280606198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429789698339059066.post-62809178902985094882019-02-23T13:47:56.201-08:002019-02-23T13:47:56.201-08:00Hi! I'm trying to find some sort of balance between keeping the project free and covering my costs and labor (it's basically a half-time job now that takes 20-25 hours per week), so to nudge people to buy the boards, paying customers will be getting things faster and with more features. In this case "more features" means that free version will be a separate firmware for Shahe scales that won't be able to mix-and-match the scales. I don't know what the time frame is. Right now I'm pushing really hard to get the new version of the app out, so that is my main priority.Yuriyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11394499166280606198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429789698339059066.post-64105372118792521542019-02-21T22:23:19.233-08:002019-02-21T22:23:19.233-08:00Hi,

The motor speed is 1764 rpm and the tach readout is 1710 rpm. This is with 20 ppr (I've tried less ppr but it seems to make no difference on the percentage it is off). My question is can the updated software you are talking about make a difference in what I'm experiencing or is it not worth it. And can the newer software be installed on my board. Just so you know I'm the dunderhead who could not get the tach working until I used shielded wire and grounded the shield to the board (and by the way, that blog about bonding was very informative and I thank you for posting it).
